We're a small studio in Jorhat, making the things we wanted for ourselves: a dictionary worth keeping open, a word game for a slow afternoon, and a home for the films we grew up watching. All of it designed in the script we think in.
The work
Each one began as something we wished existed, and kept going because people wrote in to say it was useful. All three are still growing.
The streaming home of Assamese cinema. Nine decades of film gathered in one place, from restored classics of 1935 to this year's releases, with every title licensed directly from the families who own it. The people who made these films share in every rupee.
An Assamese crossword with a syllable keyboard built for our script, so typing a conjunct feels natural. Start on gentle 4×4 and 6×6 grids, move up to 9×9 when you're ready, and travel through levels drawn from Kaziranga and Majuli. It plays anywhere, signal or no signal.
Our first release, and still the one we reach for most. A two-way dictionary that opens quickly and keeps working offline, so the word you need is there whenever you look for it. On the web, or in your pocket.
Approach
Three habits we've picked up along the way. Nothing clever, just what has worked for us and for the people using what we make.
We design in Assamese before we design in English. Conjuncts, syllable input, sorting order and line breaks are thought through early, so the script feels at home rather than fitted in afterwards.
People open our apps on a bus, in the fields, halfway up a hill. Everything we ship keeps doing its job without a connection, so it's there the moment you want it.
We'd rather put something small in front of real people and keep improving it together. Most of our best ideas have arrived in an email from someone using the app.
